Here's a collection of pictures that will give you an idea of how Kate spends her day...
First - Kate wakes up! And if she's awfully quiet in the morning and you don't know why, chances are she's "organizing" her diaper basket. Silly me left it within reach of her crib! She's quite the singer in the morning, and that's usually how she alerts me it's time to get out of bed.
Next - Kate gets some exercise! And in addition to this, once she makes it to the top of the stairs, of course it's time to take care of the cats. Nike loves that Kate will follow her up the stairs. Once she started climbing stairs, there was no holding her back (except in the form of the baby gate at the bottom); but if we take that gate down, it's no longer than 5 min before she is on there and nearly to the top!
Next, it's time to cook breakfast! Kate's quite the culinary expert. The mitts started out as a way to keep her away from the hot oven when I open it, and it worked quite well! Now it's definitely a play thing for her - if I'm working on a meal in the kitchen, she prefers to have the oven mitts on, just in case I need back up.
And to finish up the morning, it's time to eat your breakfast! Of course, being the picky eater she is, Kate doesn't eat anything we prepared - she prefers a simple banana, along with some oatmeal. And she's graduated to the use of a spoon and fork. It's a bit messy at times, but where's the fun if we all stay clean during a meal??
And this is only the beginning of each day! Kate sure is a busy girl...
